The AcuoMed Image Manager is a secure,
open-system software solution for transporting, storing, tracking and
retrieving digital images across an entire DICOM network. Capabilities
for each AcuoMed server node are defined and activated by a “software
feature key.” Installation of feature keys is fast, simple and
efficient. Feature keys define storage size limits, the number of
supported IP addresses, and the number of
routes, rules and DICOM databases that can be configured and utilized.
This capability empowers customers with the ability to purchase only the
functionality they require at the moment. This is just one of the many
ways Acuo reduces
the cost of DICOM storage for healthcare
facilities.
AcuoMed works in conjunction with AcuoStore, a
digital asset manager. AcuoStore serves as a digital vault,
communicating the instructions of AcuoMed with the diverse DICOM storage
devices in which digital DICOM image and patient information is
contained. Working in tandem, AcuoMed/AcuoStore bridge the
communications gap between two or more PACS of different manufacturers
and among DICOM image management systems of different “ologies”, such
as radiology and cardiology.
They are designed to unify the diversified
elements of any medical facility “going digital”. They make
comprehensive access to HL-7 and DICOM-based information from a single
keyboard workstation a reality.
AcuoMed Image Manager
AcuoMed is a federated framework which is
peer-aware through
DICOM. A solution so flexible that it can run on a laptop or scale up
and out to meet the needs of the most demanding enterprise.
Primary Functionality
- Operates on Microsoft® Windows® 2003
Server, 2000 Server, Windows® XP Professional, Windows® 2000
Professional as a client workstation.
- Microsoft® SQL database interface.
- Configures and interconnects all existing DICOM data archives and storage media configurations (DAS, NAS, SAN).
- Interfaces with all DICOM 3.0 compatible
equipment. Supports DICOM Structured Reports (SR) and any available
DICOM storage SOP class.
- AcuoMed server(s) function as primary archive or run in parallel to main archive(s).
- Hassle-free, boundary free, scalable design
- Installation, configuration, validation and activation in less than one day
- Centralized or distributed XML data movement around any-sized network
- Complex image routing and retrieval requirements, through batch store management and selectable compression.
- DICOM Tag Routing – Content aware router
dynamically caches, queues with priority, compress and encrypts data
through an automatic yet tightly controlled batch interface to trigger
efficient packet movement to in-network storage.
- Effectively manages image transfer
bottlenecks associated with movement of large sets of images
(multi-slice CT) and large data sets (digital mammography).
- Overcomes network bottlenecks and optimizes performance of network constrained systems.
- Peer-Awareness through Enterprise DICOM
Aggregation converts point-to-point DICOM into point-to-multipoint
functionality enabling a network of peer-aware nodes.
- Secure and HIPAA compliant – easy to
access/easy to understand comprehensive audit reporting for any
individual image in the system.
- Communicates with and unifies data from
multiple information systems (HIS, RIS, CIS) and multiple PACS of the
same or different vendors through open protocols such as DICOM Modality
Worklist, HL7 (v5.0) and XML (v5.0).
- Data synchronization features automates
and streamlines the process of updating data for all relevant entities
within disparate systems.
- Duplicates Processing functionality
–Retain multiple versions of the same image through content-based
mechanism or intelligently keep only relevant versions while maintaining
a full journal of changes within each self-describing image.
- Invisible data migration with the addition of Acuo’s Data Migration components - ADAM
AcuoStore Digital Asset Manager
AcuoStore is a digital asset retrieval
service that lets users store, track, and retrieve virtually any type of
digital asset from a client application such as AcuoMed. Functioning
like a digital vault for
the client application, AcuoStore checks digital assets in to and out of
storage archives that have been configured to store digital assets.
Featuring an easy-to-use interface AcuoStore allows an administrator to
set up and manage secure, easily expandable storage archives on devices
such as DAS, SAN, NAS, tapes and other Windows compatible storage
devices.
AcuoStore receives a digital asset from a
subscriber, such as AcuoMed, assigns it a Globally Unique ID (GUID) and
then returns it to the subscriber. The GUID identifies the specific
asset for future retrieval. When the subscribing application program
wants to retrieve a digital asset, it presents the GUID, which then make
the asset locally available. In essence, the AcuoStore Digital Asset
Manager serves as a digital vault between the subscriber and a
virtualized set of physical storage locations.
AcuoStore also includes multithreaded
integration directly to EMC’s Content Address Storage, Centera®. Through
AcuoStore’s integration to Centera® and AcuoMed’s content and policy
based management of DICOM data, AcuoStore can offer true Information
Life Cycle Management (ILM).
The strength of AcuoStore is in its ability
to provide a simple, straightforward method of organizing digital
assets into safe, easily accessible and expandable storage compartments
using
economic Microsoft® Windows® server
technology.
Primary Functionality:
- AcuoStore password-level security works in conjunction with standard ® SQL Server security.
- Managed share architecture uses logical
mapping to enable digital information to flow to and from multiple,
diverse storage devices such as RAID disk arrays, servers, optical
drives and spinning disks.
- Ability to allow multiple applications serving different subscribers to securely use the same managed share.
- “Coat check” feature enables data to be
stored where it is most convenient. AcuoStore locates and consolidates
the information it is seeking regardless of the number of locations in
which it is located.
- One key NTFS interface simplifies management.
- “Virtual” image segregation “isolates”
data generated at a specific location or by a specific application (such
as digital mammography) – allowing ILM.
- Remote management through secure Intranet
or via a Virtual Private Network with Microsoft® Management Console or
through Remote Desktop.
- Ability to define and allocate storage
utilization to specific “subscribers” enables assignment of storage
costs by department or user group.
- Automated system backup and efficient disaster recovery capability
